The immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is responsible for giving an 'On Arrival" visa to the tourists flying to Nepal. The procedure for a visa on arrival is very quick and simple. But, during peak tourist season, there might be some queues. You can also get a visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions placed abroad before your arrival. You must enter Nepal within six months from the visa issued date, once you obtained a visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions. The total stay will be counted from the day you arrive in Nepal.
Those visas which are obtained on arrival at the entry and exit points are called tourist visas. Once you get this visa you can have the facility of multiple re-entry. Whatever the purpose of your visit, a tourist visa on arrival is the only entry visa to Nepal. However, you must change the category of visa according to your purpose and duration of stay in Nepal from the Department of Immigration.

You have to follow these simple procedures for getting a tourist visa on arrival at the airport, if you have not obtained a visa before boarding the plane.
• 1st Step
o Fill in the ' Arrival Card '
• Fill in the Online ‘Tourist Visa ‘form (you can fill it out from the website Department of Immigration before arriving or use Kiosk machines upon your arrival at the airport to fill it). If you use the website to fill form, you will obtain a submission
receipt with a barcode, print it out, and bring it along to get the visa. This is valid for 15 days.
• 2nd Step
o Do payment at the bank as per your visa requirement ( 15/30/90 Days)
o Get the receipt
Different modes of payment can be used but we suggest you carry some cash to be on the safe side.
On-Arrival Visa Fee at Entry Point
15 Days – 30 USD
30 Days – 50 USD
90 Days – 125 USD
• 3rd Step
o Take your online form, payment receipts, and your passport to the immigration Desk and hand give to immigration officer for visa processing. The officer issues a visa upon his/her satisfaction.
Visa Extension Fee
• Visa extension fee is USD 45 for a minimum of 15 days and USD 3 per day for additional days.
• Additional USD 5 per day is charged in the case of less than 150 days delay.
