No wonder the off the beaten trekking trails are slowly getting crowded. Lower Dolpo Trek in Nepal is the shortened version of Upper Dolpo Shey Gompa Trek.
The journey is similar to Upper Dolpo. The only difference is that the trekkers reach only up to Phoksundo Lake. This is the deepest lake in Nepal. It is shorter and relatively comfortable than the Full Dolpo trekking. Trekkers will get the chance to witness Nepal’s all geographical belts (flatland/terai, hilly & Himalayan). Today you trek to the Tarakot along the southern bank of the Bheri River on an easy trail. Along the way, you pass through the deep gorges, bridges and isolated villages as we climb over the hill. You will walk close to Tarap Chu and cross before reaching Sandul Gompa.
