Trip Overview

Annapurna I expedition is the heaven for the mountaineering in Nepal. The mountain is the tenth tallest mountain of the world with a height of 8091 m from sea level. The mountain is one of the peaks in the Annapurna series. Other mountains in the series are hard to climb but this too is not an easy ride. The mountain is the focal point of the famous Annapurna Region trekking in Nepal and has been the deity of many trekkers.

The mountain was first scaled by the team of the French Expedition during 1950. There are altogether five summits in the Annapurna Series which lie as the large massif in the north of Pokhara. The major peak among these mountains is in the West of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The first group to scale the mountain was led by the Maurice Her Zong accidentally identified this mountain while descending from the Dhaulagiri Mountain. The inaccurate showing on the maps took so much of the time to reach the foothill of the mountain. The team then ascended the mountain from the Miristi Khola side which is the northern face of Mount Annapurna I. After the successful ascendancy by the team of Maurice the further attempts were not made until 1970.

During this time the team of British Army followed the route used by Maurice. Cris Boning led the team of British expedition successfully for the Annapurna I expedition. The total ascents to this peak to date are just about 109. Therefore this is regarded as the less climbed mountain of Nepal. This mountain has the records of a few successful climbing than other 8000 m height or above mountains of the world. Book the enthralling Annapurna I Expedition package with the team of Adventure Victory Team Treks & Expedition. The excellent facilities and expert team of Sherpa will make your expedition voyage a successful one.
